Your first pair of stage heels is a milestone. Here's exactly how to choose correctly so your first pair serves you well from day one.
Step 1: Know What You're Performing
- Pole dance: Platform heels, rubber outsole, 12–23cm. See our Pole Dance Heels collection.
- Latin and ballroom: Slim heel, suede sole, 5–9cm. See our Latin & Dance Heels collection.
- Stage and theater: Platform heels or boots, patent finish, 12–18cm. See our Platform Heels collection.
- Drag and nightlife: Platform heels or thigh-high boots, maximum height and finish. See our Stage Boots collection.
Step 2: Choose the Right Height for Your Level
- No heel experience: 10–12cm with substantial platform
- Occasional heel wearer: 12–15cm
- Regular heel wearer: 15–18cm
Step 3: Check These Five Features
- Outsole: Rubber non-slip for pole and stage. Suede for Latin and ballroom.
- Insole: Cushioned latex foam or memory foam
- Ankle strap: Load-bearing and adjustable
- Upper material: Patent synthetic leather
- Fit: No heel slippage, no cramped toes
Step 4: Practice Before You Perform
Wear at home 20–30 minutes a day before taking to the studio. Never perform in heels you haven't trained in.
